This is the typical look of an unused bedroom: old wallpapers, many dead spots, dark colors, and overall lack of life. With some tweaks here and there, joined with a complete paint job to brighten the walls, you have a completely new bedroom that looks ready to be lived in!

2. From Scratch

If you’re starting from scratch, you may feel a little overwhelmed, especially if you’re not experienced in interior design. Fortunately, there are a few tips you can learn to make your bedroom look like it came straight out of a catalog. While empty, the room above didn’t look all that special, but the secret is in the details. Wisely creating contrast with the new colored wall and redoing the floor to match, the rest was just adding what you’d expect to see in a bedroom - and there you go: a beautiful, modern bedroom ready to please anyone.

3. More Space

At first glance it may seem hopeless to imagine that such a common, bland bedroom could be “Pinterest worthy,” but all it takes is a little messing around. The walls were brightened and the bed relocated for extra space and convenience, and let’s not forget the carefully placed mirror right in front of the door frame - mirrors are your number one tool to create spacious environments without having to break down walls.

4. Zero to Ten

A lesson on how to make something from nothing - and what a “something” that is! It’s the very concept of every blank board carrying the potential for the next masterpiece. The bedroom was populated with furniture all respecting a color scheme and leaving a lot of breathing room. In fact, the room may look bigger after the complete makeover than before.

5. Paint Over

We’ve talked about the power of the color white here many times, and it’s for good reason - dark colors can be used to great effect in order to create a mood or contrast, but especially for rooms with little space, it’s better to go white, since it naturally makes the room look less cramped and more spacious.

6. Taller

This room looked really empty before the new treatment, and that’s because we can see too much wall space with nothing there. The problem was fixed with the new curtain set, which simultaneously made the room look a bit taller - a nice little curtain trick.

7. Master Bedroom

Here, the idea was to make better use of the big open space the room provides, giving it more equilibrium - in the before image, the room seems way too big upwards. This was fixed by giving the main wall a nice little texture and a frame, pulling the balance that way more than upwards. Along with the new bed and furniture, there’s also the new color scheme, focusing on white, gray, and dark blue - a very modern scheme for a masculine bedroom.

8. One? How About Four?

This seemingly small little room could easily make for a good children’s bedroom, right? Well, how about FOUR? As you can see, the room wasn’t as small as it looked on first sight, fitting fours beds with a lot of breathing room left for playing, making it ideal for a guest room and playroom at the same time.
