There are many ways a home can be improved, such as decorating, remodeling, painting, among others. But one way that’s usually not as appreciated as it should be are simple life hacks! That means things like repurposing objects or adding extra (and unexpected) storage. Why aren’t they more recognized? That I can’t tell you, but I do know that you’ll love these five awesome home improvement hacks!

Wine Racks for Towel Holders

If you have an extra wine rack lying around the house, you can place it in the bathroom to store your towels! Here are some reasons to do that:

  • It adds storage
  • It saves you time when you’re in a rush
  • Nobody will scream for you to bring them towels because they forgot to take one since the towels will be right there at hand

Sounds good, right? I love this! Of course, you could also go with the classic towel rod installed on the back of the door, or even use command hooks, but the wine rack can also be handy - it keeps them tidy and organized, and it’s always nice to have some spare ideas, you know, just in case.

Coat Hangers for Ironing Board

I thought this idea was super original (if it’s not you can judge me, I’ll allow it), but when I saw it I was truly impressed. I had no idea coat hangers could support the weight of an ironing board, but as you can see, they do! And I love these organizing and storage ideas that take things off the floor - makes sweeping and mopping so much easier!

Hide Thermostat Controls

You know those movies where people hide safes behind a painting? Well, that indicates you know you can’t hide valuable things there, but why not hide the thermostat control? It’ll hide the eyesore and make your home better and more beautiful!

Add an Extra Shower Rod for Storage

Instead of having just the one shower rod to hang the curtain, add an extra one on the wall inside the box! There you can hang some shower caddies and step up your bathroom storage. Coming from a four-people family with a one-bathroom house, I’d say this is genius!

That’s because:

We would always have more shampoo bottles than storage and there were always things in the way on the floor. With the extra shower rod + storage, you can prevent that from happening and keep the space organized!

Hang Pants Differently

This one is really cool as well. The idea is to use shower curtain hooks to hang your pants, that way they will take up less (A LOT less) space in your closet. Definitely worth it!
