I always loved celebrating Mother’s Day because it’s a day I can tell and show my mom just how special she is. Whether that’s with a special breakfast in bed or a new recipe for lunch (even though those didn’t always work out and sometimes she ended up having to take control of the kitchen, I think she knew it was from the heart).
However,
Sometimes it’s best to keep it simple and there’s nothing that says simple-but-special like a DIY card with a cute message of love. That being said, here are some ideas to get you inspired in your own card!

Not only is this message super adorable, the drawing just makes it even better. I love the whole combination of this card and, even though I like to keep it original and create my own stuff, I wouldn’t change anything about this. I’m sure mom would love it as much as I do (and as much as I’d love to receive this myself).

There are several rewritings of this saying, I’ve read “home is where you hang your hat, “home is where the heart is, “home is where I want to be, but none of those is as truthful as this one.
Home is where your mom is and that’s that!
The woman that faced all the challenges of raising you, teaching you and helping you grow, there’s nothing that says “home more than that. And let me tell ya: women don’t usually talk much about the hard parts of growing a human being, they only focus on the miracle of life, but this miracle is no easy task, I tell ya. Be grateful for you mom, people!
Hand card
I thought this was so cute, fun, and different! Not only you can send a sweet message, you can make a really unique card. A way of saying to your mom “hey, I’m here if you need a hand because, you know, you were always there for me too. Doesn’t that sound nice? I think my mom will get one of these this year!
Simple but thoughtful
Despite this one being so simple and not really a message that you had to think a lot about, the simplicity and truth behind it is so beautiful that would bring tears to every mom that got this on their special day. There’s nothing more fulfilling than having your kids say they look up to you and that they’re inspired by you. That really makes a difference in the life of a mother!
Funny card
One of the things moms are known for is their skill dealing with missing objects around the house, and especially their patience in having to hear everyone calling them all the time to find those objects. So, a funny card like this would be great for a mom that enjoys a good sense of humor!
Love chart
This is a really creative card, I don’t think I’d have thought of this myself, but I simply love it. You can personalize the chart according to your own mom and how your relationship is, but I do think this card sums up a lot of maternal relationships out there. But I do remember a lot of my friends saying their moms didn’t really cook that well, so, hey, get creative with your chart!
