"Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak." -Rachel Zoe
The 2016 Emmy Awards are a night where people all over the country gather to celebrate a year of entertainment and art as well as fashion. Watching celebrities walk the red carpet dressed to impress is a highlight for fashion and art lovers. You never know what to expect and you never know who you are going to find inspiration from. This year there was high glamour, lots of gold and green and plenty of bold colors we weren’t expecting. Each of those styles inspired a look that can be translated in your home. Check out our four favorite looks from the Emmy’s and how to inspire the same look for your home!
The Class Act
Michelle Dockery drew all eyes to her in this incredible white tiered Oscar de le Renta gown. She kept the gown as the main attraction with simple black heels and understated earrings. Dockery won best look in our book and the classiest look of the night!
Go for this look in your home by focusing on art deco and classic looks combined with a stellar pallet of black and white. Add texture and depth with different patterns and shades to make for a eye catching and classy room.
Gold Glamour
Claire Danes impressed viewers with this classically beautiful gold Schiaparelli dress, styled with Forevermark diamonds. She was glowing on the red carpet from head to toe!
Get the ambience of this dress in your home with french classical stylings in gold. You can go for glamour with chandeliers, poufs and throw pillows in a shimmering gold.
Green with Envy
Sarah Paulson dressed to win in this gorgeous Prada dress. The green was perfect for her skin tone and sparkled with gold beading. She was dressed perfectly to accept her first Emmy win after being nominated 5 years in a row.
Combining gold and green is becoming a bigger trend this year. Using different shades of green combined with the perfect shine with gold accents will make your home brighter and more inviting. When using green and gold you can be tempted to stay with nature looks but don’t be afraid to branch out into modern and contemporary styles.
Pretty in Pink
Viola Davis rocked the red carpet in this gorgeous fuschia Marchesa that is getting mixed reviews from the fashion police. While the criticism is out there, we love the gown with the silver accents and bold color.
You can get the Viola Davis look in your own home on a smaller scale. Pink is a great accent color as it goes well with almost all neutrals. In this white and grey room, the fuchsia chairs and silver mirror additions make this room incredible.
Flower Power
Kristen Bell has become America’s quirky sweetheart and didn’t disappoint on the red carpet this year. She shocked us with this beautiful floral gown, different than anything we’ve seen her wear in the past, made by Zuhair Murad. She kept the rest of her look neutral as to bring all the attention to the dress.
You can get this rustic floral look for your home as well! In the bedroom it is particular beautiful. Adding aspects of floral in your decor on your bed or wall hangings mixed with rustic themed decor and neutral colors makes for a perfectly balanced room.
Finding inspiration from your home doesn’t have to be a hard process and doesn’t have to be by the book. Everything from fashion, and makeup, to books and movies can inspire you to make your home even more beautiful.
