It happens to us all. Stuck inside on a rainy day, slow day at work, or being on a particularly long ride with nothing to do. Boredom sets in. It can drive people crazy, but it can also make them very creative. Here are some unusual things to do when the boredom gets real. Some people turn into geniuses with just the right push.

Fantastic Etch-a-sketch
Sometimes you have to stare at something for a while, the only question in your mind being “How did someone do that?” Followed very closely with “And how much time did that take?” Most people don’t have that level of artistic skill on paper, never mind an Etch-a-sketch.
Projectile Launch that Boredom
Slingshots, catapults, trebuchets, it’s odd that one gigantic cure for boredom regardless of where you are located is to devise a way to hit stuff with other stuff. This is usually the case in the classroom or office, where construction materials and ammo are both plentiful. The effects of boredom in school have been well documented, and who hasn’t been bored at work?
Here’s another way to beat boredom in the classroom or office. The good old fashioned crossbow. Nothing to fancy, and they tend to be fairly accurate.
Tetris Tater Tots
Bringing a whole new meaning to the term “playing with your food,” these delightful treats combine the tastinest of tater tots with the fun of Tetris.
The Pringle Ringle
Sometimes there are negative effects of boredom. Sometimes, boredom can be a driving force for people. And sometimes, the accomplishment that boredom creates is silly and edible. But like all accomplishments, a person feels good about achieving something silly as long as it’s challenging enough and rewarding enough. And besides, who doesn’t want to see a Pringle ringle?
Having Waaaaaaay Too Much Time on Your Hands
Yup, those are leaves. In a painstakingly artistic way to kill an afternoon, someone actually went through the trouble of arranging all those leaves according to color. It must’ve taken hours, but the end result is quite stunning.
The Post-it Prank
Poor Jim. The beauty of this prank is that nobody gets hurt, it just takes some time out of everyone’s day. Particularly noted is the color scheme and attention to detail. Neon is such an underused car color.
The ‘Ol Shopping Cart Forcefield
Usually reserved for bad parking jobs, the shopping cart barricade takes a little bit of time, but the picture is so worth it. Equally priceless will be the reaction of the owner when they see what you’ve done to (or should we say around?) their car. Also a photo opportunity.

As mentioned before, sometimes just a little bit of boredom can make a person creative.
