The big holiday is already here! Gifts are piling under the tree, most of the decoration is done and now we wait for the big day. But your dinner table still needs Christmas centerpiece ideas to make this night truly unforgettable.

Most of the ideas here are focused on being doable – nothing that involves spending a fortune or too much time to make. It’s common for us to leave these things for the last-minute, but I’m sure you’ll find plenty of inspiring ideas on the list.

But of course, try to prepare yourself at least a few days in advance to make sure you can find the materials you need for some of these!

Candles always add a rustic charm to any dinner table. All you need for this one is a glass vase, some pine tree clippings, glue, and a ribbon to close the deal. Because of the vase, you can even light the candle for real, since it will be protected.

2. Gift bag

When dabbling in DIY you will start to notice you can do a lot with very little. Here, take some brown gift bags, pine tree clippings and white paint for simple but gorgeous results! To finish it off, you can use some twine to wrap around the bag with star adornments.

3. Old timey lantern

No big secret for this one: bring out the lanterns and light up a candle inside them – as simple as that. However, you can complete the look with some greenery and pinecones, which definitely adds to the visual without giving you too much work.

4. Succulents

Do you prefer to keep it simple? Succulents are easily available, low-maintenance plants that make for great decoration basically any time of the year. If you’re looking for something quick and easy to set up for Christmas, this is a great start!

5. Classic color palette

Red and green with a dash of white – the perfect Christmas combination. An excellent quality of this centerpiece is that it sits very low not getting in anyone’s line of sight, which can be a problem with taller centerpieces.

All you have to do is cut the leaves from green card paper, mark the leaf lines with a green marker to match, and add red jingle bells throughout the piece.

6. Gold

There’s always room for something classier. Golden accents are known to elevate any setting, and seeing as this is a special occasion, it might be time to use this card.

Acquiring golden cutlery can be more difficult, but you can make up for it with candleholders, plates, ornaments, napkin holders, and much more. Gold and black may be unusual when it comes to centerpiece ideas for a Christmas party, but it works wonders!

7. DIY Christmas luminaries

You can create these luminaries yourself with just a handful of materials. This is what you’ll need:

  • The jars themselves. Any small to medium mason jar will do.
  • Cranberries. Real or faux, up to you.
  • Some greenery. You can probably find something in your backyard (the one used above is cedar).
  • Water to fill the jar.
  • A votive candle.

Then, it’s just a process of assembling it together. Insert the greenery inside first then a handful of cranberries, followed by enough water to almost fill the jar. Finally, the votive candle should fit nicely among the berries.

8. Ornaments

Who says ornaments are limited to the tree? Recently I’ve discussed some ideas about decorating with ornaments, and the centerpiece is another great place to work with them.

Here, it’s a simple concept: candle holders are used to hold stunning red ornaments. To make it easier, you can use a drop of glue to keep them in place!

9. Frozen landscape

It’s hardly pleasant to experience the winter by sitting on the snow, but you can always bring that frosty landscape inside in a creative way. This is a more demanding project that requires a bit more preparation, but the results speak for themselves!

10. Economic

Finally, let’s close the list off with a perfect last-minute idea. Just a few materials necessary (most of which you probably already have at home or the backyard) and it’s a small craft, leaving plenty of space on your table.

Once you have the items, it’s as simple as putting it on a plate – no extra bells and whistles. A large candle in the center helps in bringing the look together. Place it dead center on the table for the best effect!
