Easter is always a fun time to celebrate with your family. Right now, most of us are stuck home because of the coronavirus outbreak, but that doesn’t mean we have to forget about Easter – there’s a lot we can do with simple decoration ideas!
In fact, for most of these you don’t even have to leave the house (which would be very ill advised at this time). We want easy and quick Easter decoration ideas that you can DIY from home without much effort.

Easter egg tree
All you need for this beautiful Easter decor are some ribbons, watercolor paint, scissors and some glue (hot glue would be better, but normal glue will do just fine too). Oh yeah, and some twigs that can be made to resemble a small tree!
When you have those, it’s only a matter of setting them up.
- First, paint the eggs – and feel free to experiment with colors and patterns, there’s no wrong way of doing it here. Be creative!
- Then, wrap the ribbon around it and glue the point where they meet on top of the egg, making sure to also glue it to the egg so it doesn't fall.
- Finally, tie it to your tree and it’s done!
Easter table decor
Though you can purchase small nests such as these, you can actually make them yourself assuming you have some grape vine available!
The egg itself is the easiest part – just paint it with some watercolor and let it dry. Then, you can complete the look by painting some symbols or lettering as seen above.
Candle eggshells
Eggshells can also be made into cute candleholders by simply breaking the upper portion and adding a small tea light inside. If you can paint the eggshell, the decor will be even more beautiful!
Just be sure to keep the lit candles away from any wool, grape vines or paper, since those are also commonly used for Easter decoration.
Bunny pom pom garland
These adorable pom pom bunnies are easy enough to make if you’ve ever dabbled into DIY crafts. Here’s what you need to make it happen:
- Yarn
- Scissors
- Craft foam
- Pom poms
- Hot glue gun
- Baker’s twine
First, start with the plain pom pom and glue the bunny ears (made from craft foam) with the glue gun. Then, glue the white pom to make the little nose, and finally, use the baker’s twine to string them all together into a garland. That’s it!
Carrot table decor
Probably one of the easiest but most charming ideas on the list, all you need for this are a set of green plastic cutlery, orange napkins, and… well, that’s pretty much it! You can tie them up with twine for extra charm, but anything will do.
Burlap Easter bag
A burlap bunny bag can be used just as well for decorative purposes, but also as a nice way to hide chocolates and treats for your children! Scatter some of these around the house and have them try to find as a fun activity.
Simple decorated egg
A perfect project to involve the kids – let them go wild with watercolor painting! The more colorful, the better, and the more, the merrier!
You can then place the eggs around the house – as if the Easter bunny itself made sure to decorate it for you. Or, even better, you can play a game with the kids and hide the eggs around the house for them to find!
Egg planters
We saw lots of painting up until now, so let’s try something a bit different: using eggshells as tiny planters for a centerpiece. Simply break the top of the eggs, use them for delicious recipes and use the shells as tiny planters – you can even add some sand to make sure the egg has some weight and won’t topple over as easily.
