We’ve talked about tile transformation, we’ve talked about backsplashes, but we’ve yet to indulge in this fabulous trend called glitter grout: a sparkly twist to make your tile work a bit more…shiny!

It consists of a special kind of grout with added glitter, creating a unique glam look to make any tile work less boring. You won’t believe how awesome golden glitter grout looks when the sun hits it at the right angle. But glitter grout can be subtle too! Check it out!

The secret to glitter grout is making it either blend in or contrast with your tiles of choice. Above we have a very subtle, almost unnoticeable example of glitter grout, but when the light is right you can see just how much it shines.

Oh yeah, glitter grout works just as well on backsplash! Who says the kitchen can’t have bold accents? Learn how to install backsplash here!

Using black tiles is a bold choice to begin with, but perhaps using simple white grout would make it look too blocky, while using dark grout would create a mass of darkness that is not ideal for every environment.

With glitter grout, the black tile wall (or backsplash) will get a touch of glam and bring a bit of light to the darkness!

Yet another example of glitter grout being used to complement a dark modern look: what would be oppressively dark otherwise now looks flashy and sparkly!

This is to show how well glitter grout works on tiles with different sizes and even different colors.

Here the monotone color palette gets extra personality from the sparkly texture created by the grout. Have this under the right lighting conditions and you’ll wonder why it isn’t more popular!

But there are many different colors!

Sure glitter grout can complement a beautiful modern look in a more subtle way, but that’s only the beginning:

There are plenty of other colors you can pick from.

You’ve got the silver and gold choices, but there’s also:

  • Blue
  • Yellow
  • Pink
  • Red
  • Purple
  • Orange
  • Green
  • And everything else in between!

Here are a few examples:

If you’re already going for a textured look, glitter grout will only add to the overall feel. The keyword here is glam!

What would otherwise be a golden and royal-like look gets a coat of glam to break off the seriousness and add some excitement.

Here’s proving how glitter grout also works with darker colors (besides the color black, as we’ve seen before), but also different styles of tile work. This exotic and earthy look is perfect for those looking to bring a bit of nature home.
