For many people, there is a special admiration for bacon. For whatever reason, bacon seems to be a favorite amongst people who enjoy eating meat. And while the flavor is enough to satiate some people, others want to make the most out of their love for bacon. Here are some of the different uses for bacon grease.

Use in Cooking
It would only make sense that a savory grease such as bacon’s would have a number of practical applications in the kitchen. Of course it can be used like any other type of biological grease, and thensome. There’s lots of different things you can do when cooking with bacon grease. Healthy options are available as well. Here are just a few!
- Fry eggs
- Grease a pan
- Season a cast iron skillet
- Make a salad dressing
- Use in french toast
- Mix a little in hot sauce
Bird Feeder
Here is one of the many non-cooking uses for bacon grease. It may sound strange, but birds actually do appreciate the flavor of bacon grease. Simply roll a pinecone in some bacon grease and then birdseed and either mount it near a window or set it up near your feeder. You won’t believe the results!
Baconnaise
Because life is too short to not enjoy baconnaise at least once. This tasty condiment can be spread anywhere you use regular mayo, be it sandwiches, tartar sauce, or deviled eggs (we certainly recommend the last entry). It just one of the tasties uses for bacon grease available. Mix the following into a food processor, but gently and slowly add the grease last.
- 1 cup liquid bacon fat (not hot, but not cold either)
- 2 egg yolks
- 3 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard (to help emulsify)
Apples and Bacon
For some reason the delicious blend of apples and bacon is a truly unique one dear to a lot of out hearts. Use bacon grease to fry up some apples and bacon in the same pan. You won’t regret this amazing treat. It’s also one of the uses for bacon grease keto dieters will be interested in making.
DIY Candle
This is one of the more easy uses for bacon grease other than cooking you can do. Simply center a wick in a jar, pour your bacon grease into that, and let it sit. Once it hardens, you’ll have your own candle that gives off a bacon aroma when lit. It’s a great DIY project for bacon enthusiasts.
